MEERUT: The Moradabad unit of Uttar Pradesh ATS busted a fake currency racket in Sambhal and seized counterfeit notes having a face value of Rs 20,000 on Thursday evening. One accused, Sharafat Hussain, was arrested during a joint operation with the Sambhal police in Saraitareen area.
Acting on inputs, the ATS team cordoned off a road in Kaccha locality of Mohalla Pannigram and nabbed Hussain, a resident of the same area. Officials said the seized fake currency included 35 notes of Rs 500, six notes of Rs 200, and 13 notes of Rs 100 denominations.
